GET A MYSTERYCLUE is designed to be a weekly, fun column where Shannon Muir takes an idea that comes to mind and just runs with it, to see what she learns along the way. This week finds Shannon thinking about the various aspects of crime – continuing with the “what”.

In terms of crime,”what” seems rather vague. This is probably the area I struggle with most. think it is best defined as the item the person committing the crime wanted. Some used of what, such as “what did they hope to gain,” really fall more under “why” – that will be explored later on.

So how does this build on the “who” aspect of crime you reflected on last week? Also, start to think ahead about what role “when” might play. That’s next week’s topic.
