Interview with the Author
What inspired you to write this book?
I used to hate reading in high school. I even took a novels class my senior year to see if that made a difference.
What can we expect from you in the future?
Currently, I am working on promoting book 1, the cookbook, getting ready to have the editor review book 2, and proofreading book 3. I would love to begin making them into screen plays once they are all released.
Can you tell us a little bit about the characters in Bridge of the Gods?
When I wrote the book, I decided to put a character glossary in it as well. I know that some people don’t know a whole lot about the Greek Gods, and I wanted them to have the advantage. The 2 main characters are Luthor and Gwen.
Luthor– A quiet and typical teenager. His best friend Gwen is by his side no matter what. On Luthor’s 18th birthday, his life changes more than he will know. On this day, he will find out that his destiny is already decided for him.
Gwen– Luthor’s best friend and the love of his life. She fights beside him and does her best to keep him in line. She has her own set of powers that include transformation, archery, and visions of the past.
How did you come up with the concept and characters for the book?
I have always had a love for Greek Mythology. When I wrote the book, I wanted to feature some of the minor gods as well since the big names always get the attention. You will see characters like Hestia, the goddess of the hearth, and the 3 goddesses of springtime growth, as well as some unnamed minor gods.
Where did you come up with the names in the story?
I came up with the name of the story from the plot of the book.
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
I think bringing the characters to life and being able to tell the story from a new angle.
Who designed your book covers?
The cover was designed a talented lady who is part of my publishing team named Nicole.
If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?
Every time I look at it I think of things that I could add or take out, but the more I think about that decision, the more I shy away from it. I feel that we always second guess ourselves, and at some point we have to just say “It’s ok.”
If your book was made into a film, who would you like to play the lead?
Tom Holland. I think he is absolutely adorable.
Anything specific you want to tell your readers?
A lot of people like to compare the first book to the Percy Jackson series. There are similarities but in general this version is quite a bit different. As well, the second and third books are not based on the Greek Gods as I wanted to change it up a bit for each one.
What is your favorite part of this book and why?
Any time that Gwen puts Luthor in his place is my favorite parts. I wanted to not only portray a boy learning about who he is, I wanted a girl who is strong and focused.
If you could spend time with a character from your book whom would it be? And what would you do during that day?
I would want to spend the day with Hestia. I think that she is feisty, and people take her for granted. I would leave the day up to her because I am sure she would have her own agenda.
