Interview With The Author

What initially got you interested in writing?

I can’t remember a time I didn’t want to be a writer. I have always loved stories and words. My new favorite word is adamantine – I keep looking for an opportunity to use it.

What genres do you write in?

I write mysteries.

What drew you to writing these specific genres?

I write what I love to read.

How did you break into the field?

Every published author will tell you the same thing (except for the overnight successes who sell their first books for three gazillion dollars), it takes persistence.

What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?

I am not writing War and Peace. I want my readers to laugh. I want them to enjoy the mystery. And most of all, I want them to count the days to my next release.

What do you find most rewarding about writing?

I love stringing words together.

What do you find most challenging about writing?

Running out of coffee.

What advice would you give to people wanting to enter the field?

Read, read, read! That and practice your craft. Take a class. Join a critique group. Make your books shine! It takes adamantine resolve and a terrific book to get published (see what I did there?).

What type of books do you enjoy reading?

I love mysteries and thrillers.

Is there anything else besides writing you think people would find interesting about you?

Gosh…I wish I had odd collections or hobbies or interesting anecdotes or funny quirks. Truth is, I got nothing. I’m happily married with two kids and a dog who is an evil genius in disguise.
