In the Moment…is how I write. I’m not an organized plotter. Sometimes I start at the beginning, and other times in the middle. I’ve even started with the ending…a few times. It all depends on what sparks the story. One word. One thought. One picture. At that one moment, passion ignites, and the world stops. Yes, I’ve stopped driving, parked my car, and then fiercely added notes on that little screen of my phone…I really should carry a tablet in my purse. It would fit!
I didn’t stop my car for this book, The Letter Left, but I did set down my teacup and wrote notes into that little screen of my phone! Thanks to my daughter who sparked the idea for The Healing Hearts Ranch Series. She suggested I write a young adult series, or new adult it’s called for the twenty-something age group. Characters she and others her age could relate to. So, say hello to Raine & Luke. When Raine lost her parents as a child, her grandfather welcomed her to his farm. His love and the horses Raine grew to love helped heal her pain and grow into a vibrant young woman. She left the farm at 18 to find her way in life but her grandfather’s death brings her back to the farm and the boy next door-Luke. Gramps left her a letter, one that changed the direction of her life and her heart. I hope you fall in love with Raine & Luke, the horses, and the stories to continue in this new series.
I’ll leave you with a few fun facts about me. Besides being a word-aholic (my word for the addiction of reading & writing)…I love my family, readers, animals, books, the beach, sunsets, flip-flops, chocolate, wine, tea, Batman (I like to call my writing area–my Bat Cave), ABBA, and Kenny Chesney. I know…a unique combination of loves lol But hey, it’s probably why sometimes I write sweet romance, sometimes spicy romance, and then sometimes suspense! Variety is the spice of life! Do what you love. Love what you do.
