They are settling into their smooth sailing, happily reacquainted life when Lance’s flyboys are called to Afghanistan. Interview with the Author:

What initially got you interested in writing?

From a young age I enjoyed painting a picture with words, in college my professors encouraged me to become a writer. After my son left for college, I had extra time on my hands and decided to give it a try. I’m a diehard hopeless romantic, so of course I chose to write a romantic storyline.

How did you decide to make the move into being a published author?

Once my first book was complete, I shared it with several friends I knew would be bluntly honest. They loved it so I gambled and published. Thankfully, readers have been kind and extremely receptive. I especially love my bloggers who have supported and encouraged me more than I ever imagined possible.

What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?

All of my books deal with second chances. I also tie faith, family, and friends into each book. My stories are extremely romantic and very sexy, but also full of suspense and humor! The Flyboy Trilogy is loaded with airline humor, because my full time job is being a flight attendant and do I have stories!

What do you find most rewarding about writing?

The fact I impact people’s lives in a positive manner. Women have written saying it’s nice to know someone else feels the same way or thanking me for inspiring them to believe in second chances. Men have written appreciative a fire has been re-lit inside their significant other. One man was thrilled his wife even initiated sex in the bedroom. Moms have shared my inspirational romance with their sixteen and seventeen-year-old daughters because they loved the message in The Strength of Love. I’m ecstatic to know I’ve had a positive impact on someone’s life whether through a thirty-minute escape or a lifetime attitude adjustment.

What do you find most challenging about writing?

The only time I become frustrated is when someone will not give a new author a try, which is why I’m offering the first book in The Flyboy Trilogy, Turbulent Passion, for free! What do you have to lose? There are many new talented authors waiting to be discovered. Also, I wish I could write full time. I have faith that day is in my future.

What advice would you give to people want to enter the field?

Believe in your talent and your dream. If you really want to succeed keep writing. Very few find success over night and with each book your writing improves so write as much as possible.

What ways can readers connect with you?

As I mentioned readers write to me and I LOVE hearing from you. Feel free to email me or connect with me on my social media sites. Join my street team: The Flygirls! I offer contests and you receive news first regarding sales and upcoming releases. I truly appreciate you being a part of my tour and allowing me to share part of myself with all of you. XOXOXO

Lance insists we say our good-byes at the house. I plead for him to allow me to take him to the airport, but he knows we will both end up in tears and doesn’t want that to be his last memory. Instead we share our last thoughts over breakfast, then sit by the pool holding each other, until his ride arrives. My heart breaks. I fight back the tears. I will not let his last memory of me be crying. Wrapping my arms around his waist, I press my head against his chest, inhaling his spicy scent. I listen to the rhythmic sound of his heart beating. I attempt to memorize the feel of his arms around me. Our lips meet and I plead with his soul to return home to me. His strong hands hold the side of my head. Firm, yet tender, lips press to my forehead and the crown of my head. He clings to me one last time and whispers, “I love you, Goddess, more than life itself. You’re my home, my heart.”

“Then every night before you go to sleep imagine you’re in my arms. Imagine you’re home. Come home to me, Flyboy.”

His eyes fill with tears, before walking out the front door. I lean against the door frame praying he will turn and look at me. Please, Lance. Please look at me one more time. I need to see your sparkling blue eyes, your trademark smirk. He tosses his bags in the trunk. The back of his hand wipes away a tear, before threading through his hair. I then remember the picture I’d pulled out for him to take. I quickly grab it and run out the door toward him.

“Lance, wait.”

He looks at me and I freeze in my tracks. My fierce warrior’s face is covered in tears. “Oh, baby.” I spread kisses across every inch of his tense cheeks. Kissing away every salty tear. “I forgot to give you this picture.”

And then I receive the smirk…his eyes sparkle, staring at the picture of me in lace lingerie. “When?” I adore the fact he looks identical to the cat who caught the canary.

“I arranged it the day you were at the attorney’s office.”

“Now I want to carry you back into the house,” he half-laughs, stroking my upper arm.

With my hands on his hips, I instruct, “Every morning and evening you look at that picture and remember all of this is waiting for you at home.”

“Coming home to you is imprinted in my heart, sassy lady. I’m crazy about the picture, and I love the woman in it.” Our lips clash one final time. He climbs into the cab. Holding my hand through the lowered window, he says, “I’ll call you tonight from Georgia.”

“I’ll be waiting.”

“I’m coming home to you.” His jaw clenches. His Adam’s apple bobs.

Forcing a smile, I reply, “I’m trusting you.” He presses the picture to his heart and blows me a kiss. The cab disappears from view. I continue standing in the front yard tattooing the picture of our final goodbye into my memory.
