BEYOND THE SHELF is general commentary about the blog or the mystery and crime writing business by author and site administrator Shannon Muir that doesn’t fall in the scope of a regular column. This week’s topic is about the challenges of writing web serials.

The goal behind SHORTS FROM THE SHELF was to try to get me to write on a more regular basis, even if in small installments. Theoretically, if I had less to do at a time, I could find time to get it written.

Life has a way of conspiring to then give you even less time to work than you think.

So will SHORTS FROM THE SHELF return? I haven’t ruled it out. Right now, though, I don’t feel I could do it with any quality. I might even want to try having the whole story finished and broken up in advance – which was in fact what I originally shot to do when I launched the project but timing didn’t even allow to pull that off.

Catch up with you next week so you can see what is on my mind “beyond the shelf”.

Until next time,

Shannon
