+ What initially got you interested in writing?
Journalism was in my major, and so was theatre, all of this spun into books.
+ How did you decide to make the move into being a published author?
Once I finished my first book I decided to submit … it got rejected big time. I started another book after that, and another after that. Perseverance.
+ What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?
I want them to still think about the story once they’ve finished the book.
+ What do you find most rewarding about writing?
The completion of the task. Starting and finishing—it’s harder than you would think.
+ What do you find most challenging about writing?
Blurbs are difficult because you have to sum up 200-300 pages in just a few paragraphs.
+ What advice would you give to people want to enter the field?
Patience. You’ll win some and you’ll lose some, but just keep writing.
